Holiday Entertainment

Every year, starting somewhere around Thanksgiving, we notice that many of our holiday-themed movies and music have already been checked out. If the material you are looking for is not in the library, never fear—our digital collections have you covered!

If you log into Hoopla, and search “Christmas”, there are over 7,000 results, including movies, music, books, and more. As you’re digging into your Hanukkah latkes, you can also sing some songs from Party Tyme Karaoke-Hanukkah 1, also available on Hoopla. Just remember not to sing with your mouth full.

A search for “Holiday” movies on Hoopla yields over 218 results!

Overdrive also has holiday-themed books and audiobooks, and check out Kanopy for more movies for adults and kids alike.

If you’re looking for some new recipes to wow your guests, Overdrive and RB Digital have cooking magazines like Cook’s Country, Cook’s Illustrated, Food Network Magazine, and VegNews, among others. Don’t forget that Hoopla and Overdrive offer cookbooks, too!

DIY enthusiasts can find project ideas in craft books in both Hoopla and Overdrive. Homemade holiday : craft your way through more than 40 festive projects by Sophie Pester & Catharina Bruns may be checked out from the library, but as of this writing, it’s available on Overdrive.

If you’re in the library, take a look at our Holiday Entertainment display!

Whatever you watch, listen to or read (or even if you just relax and chill out with family and friends), we all wish you the happiest of holidays and a healthy New Year.
